UPDATE: 7/9/11: This blog has been repurposed as a memorial to my brother, David Houghton, who died with his family in a plane crash on 7/7/11. I am his younger brother, John Houghton. This blog used to be the voice of MobileCast Media. All of the old posts have been taken down and the site is now dedicated to the memory of the David Houghton family.

How To View And Submit Comments
The meat of this blog is in the comments. Each blog post (article) here has comments below it and you can read these by clicking on the "Comments" link at the bottom of each post. In the first post of this blog (July 8) there are over 100 comments and they really pay tribute to my brother. By viewing and submitting posts we are creating community.
Please leave comments by clicking on the "Comments" link at the bottom of each post (just like above) and at the bottom you'll see a form to fill in your comments. I suggest writing them in a text editor and pasting them into the article. This way if the "submit" doesn't go well, your comments are not lost. There is a CAPTCHA at the bottom (to prevent spam - its where you enter numbers and letters) and sometimes it takes two tries.
We look forward to reading your comments. Leave one now!-

Dear John,
On behalf of the DeLaveaga school community, please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your brother and his family. I knew them both through school, and of course knew their boys well. They were a loving family, and will all be greatly missed by all who knew them.
I am very sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Ruth Smith
Principal, DeLaveaga Elementary
Dear John:
I am the father of a fellow cub scout who knew Ryan, Dede and David thru his participation in Cub Scout Troop 618. My son participated both at Daddy and me (last fall ) and more recently Mommy and me (May 2011) campouts with David, Dede and Ryan – both in Pico Blanco (close to Big Sur). They were adventurous, and good-hearted people who were well liked by the troop. Dave and Dede contributed as den leaders to the success of our troop. Please accept my family’s condolences for your loss- we will miss them
Respectfully,
Tom Crahen

On behalf of McCampbell Analytical, Inc. we extend our deepest condolences to the Houghton family during this difficult time. John thank you for sharing all the great memories of their life, we can’t imagine the pain and grief you all are going through. We’ve worked with David & A+ Environmental Solutions for several years now and would like to send a donation on their behalf to HSA & Twin Lakes Church but we are a bit clueless as to what the best way is of sending it would be. Is there a contact or direct link where we can send the donation to? Please advise and forgive us for our ignorance.
